The farmers of Babinda were suspicious of Bjelke-Petersen’s proposal and were disillusioned by the fact that “they were a political football between the State and Federal Government” -- Interview with an Innisfail sugarcane grower, who was frustrated with the National and Labor parties -- News report about a Rockhampton policeman, Derek Ian Pickles, who was awarded the George Cross. The George Cross was awarded to the man for his bravery in a murder-suicide incident. The segment includes an interview with the recipient’s mother, who discusses his shyness and remorse following the incident -- News report about the Box and Irukandji jellyfish in North Queensland, and how research was used to mitigate their harm.
