Dr Farvardin Daliri OAM
DESCRIPTION
NameDr Farvardin Daliri OAMDescriptionDr Farvardin Daliri OAM (1955-2024) was an Iranian born Bahai who migrated to Australia in the 1980s. He completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a PhD in Eductation and worked as an artist, author and community development practitioner.
Dr Daliri spent over thirty years in the community services sector across Australia, initiating projects and programs in Tasmania, Brisbane and Townsville. In Townsville he was Director of the Townsville Migrant Resource Centre and Founder of the Townsville Cultural Fest.
Dr Daliri was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for his lifetime of service to the Australian community through his projects and programs for a more socially cohesive, inclusive and harmonious society.
