Victoria Bridge
DESCRIPTION
Name Victoria BridgeDescriptionBuilt in 1889 as one of only two metal girder swing bridges ever constructed in Australia. The bridge was open to traffic until 1975. The condition of the bridge deteriorated almost to the point of demolition until it was leased to a developer in the late 1980's at which point shops and kiosks were built on a superstructure over the bridge. The early 2000 the use had again waned and the bridge was again redeveloped, removing the super structuring and returning the use to a public thoroughfare however this time only for pedestrians.
