Name Flinders Street Library DescriptionThe city branch of the Townsville library service was the first branch established by the Townsville City Council. The Townsville library service is the oldest free public library in the State of Queensland commencing service in 1938 from the former School of Arts Building. The City branch has been relocated multiple times in it's eight decades of service and currently resides in the Northtown Building in the Flinders Street.
