Name The Retreat HotelDescriptionThomas Gleeson established The Retreat Hotel on the river side of the old road to Ravenswood and Charters Towers. The Hotel was ideally situated near a permanent waterhole and adjacent to the camping ground for carriers before they continued their journey inland. He held the licence for the Hotel from 1871 - 1884.
