Name Townsville Central School for GirlsDescriptionTownsville Central School is the first recognised school in Townsville, under the jurisdiction of the Board of Education. The National School opened on 11 March 1869. By 1873 the National School had expanded. A separate Girls School was erected and opened by the Governor in 1874. The original building became the Boys School.
Mrs Mary K Fitzpatrick was Headmistress of the Girls and Infant School from 1 July 1876 to 1 April 1880.
