Name Townsville Central School for BoysDescriptionTownsville Central School is the first recognised school in Townsville, under the jurisdiction of the Board of Education. The National School opened on 11 March 1869. By 1873 the National School had expanded. A separate Girls School was erected and opened by the Governor in 1874. The original building became the Boys School.
G.F. Scott was Head Teacher of the Boys School from 1 September 1875 until 30 April 1876.
